We are a family cattery located at Viré to 20 km in the north of Mâcon, in Saone and Loire, South Burgundy.

We are close to the exit of the A6 motorway.

We breed Norwegian Forest cats.

This race is recognized by the French Official Register of the Origins of Cats (LOOF).

Why Fire' skogkatt?

To combine my two passions:

- Volunteer Fireman for more than 20 years (FIRE)

- Norwegian Forest Cats (SKOGKATT)

Why breeding cats?

Thanks to my wife, I discovered how enjoyable life with cats is with two standard European Chartreux to begin with, and then her best friend offered our first Norwegian to us in October 2010 with Funky of the Clan MacLeod (thank you Patricia). We immediately fell in love with this so sweet breed. Later on, we looked for a partner for him, and Fani Belle of the Swiss Valley joined us in February 2011.

At that moment, we decided to start breeding Norwegians and I make a point of thanking the breeders who support and encourage us in this wonderful adventure.

How?

We thus decided to become professional while all of them were growing up.

We asked for our temporary affix in August the 2011 which became definitive in June 2012.

I passed my Certificate related to the Technical Knowledge of Pets (CETAC) in January 2012, three months before the birth of our first litter.

My wife also plans to take it in the future.

The cattery of Fire' Skogkatt thus became a professional cattery in May 2012 by obtaining the certificate of competence delivered by the prefecture of the Saone and Loire.

Our point of view on breeding:

We have a golden rule at the cattery: our cats are before all our pets; therefore they live with us in the house and can access all the rooms.

We also have a European standard pussy and two dogs (Beauceron dogs), and all of them get along very well.

Our cats sleep with us and are permanently showered with cuddles and kisses.

We give them a high quality healthy food combining kibbles and regular little treats.

We're doing our best contribute to promote and improve this breed.

That's why, we regularly take along some of our adults to shows so that they are assessed and why not awarded by professionals.
